Preserving Taiwanese American history through oral history video interviews

It’s a wrap! This weekend in NYC and Jersey was full of good conversations and connections. (And surprise tears lol)

Café Philo @ NY kindly invited us to share our project. We had a weekend full of great conversations and heartwarming exchanges in New York City and Princeton, NJ. Sabrina, Sih-Ting and Lucy shared their personal reasons behind this work, challenges they each faced so far, and the most moving part for each person in this journey.

“I’m deeply touched by all the support and feedback,” said one of KITA’s founders, Sabrina Liu, “but I think the most moving part was the hesitation, the silence, and what was not said in the interviews. I don’t know whether it was about trust, or trauma. It will take us a long time to build relationships and uncover stories. Some things have never been told; and some memories may forever be kept in the dark.”

Each event brought more clarity while simultaneously deeper questions for us to explore.
